Sam is the chair of the Design Practice Group at Lee & Hayes. He advises clients on a wide variety of intellectual property issues including the drafting and prosecution of design patent applications. His expertise is in the industrial design of electronic devices, graphical user interfaces, sports equipment, soft goods, and other ornamental inventions. Sam has extensive experience with foreign design protection including knowledge of the requirements involving The Hague Agreement. He also has utility patent experience with computer related inventions and life science technologies including medical equipment and other biomechanical inventions. Outside of Lee & Hayes, Sam spends his time in the kitchen and the garden. He was raised near St. Louis, Missouri and is a huge baseball fan apart from the Chicago Cubs.
